The Rent Event - Calling All Landlords

Calling all landlords – The rules have changed!

Be aware of what’s happening or accept the risk

    · The New Zealand tenancy space has seen more changes in the last 18 months than in the last 18 years combined – and even more is on its way.

    · The 2018 Rent Event is designed to help landlords across New Zealand learn more about these changes and how they can impact your tenancy, both now and in the future.

    · Let us help you get in the know. Landlords must be up to date with the legislation changes. If you don’t understand, or properly comply, this can lead to significant risks, including, in many cases, substantial fines.

What you’ll learn at the Rent Event:

    · A 2018 legislation roundup with tangible solutions Ray White can provide to help you comply.

    · Upcoming rental reform – What is on the way, how it will impact you and what you need to do to prepare.

    · The importance of the first step – Letting your property and how, when done correctly, this can prevent 90% of future issues.

    · Expert advice on how to make your investment property work for you financially, when legislative change is on it’s way e.g. ring fencing of losses and capital gains tax.

    · Investment savings and better returns – How Ray White and Loan Market can save you significantly through the lending and ownership structure of your investments and help you achieve greater returns.

    · How to use the equity in your investment property to buy another.

    · These events are a fantastic opportunity to come along with any of your own specific questions or concerns. Our experienced staff will happily answer those for you, or point you in the right direction if further assistance is required.

We look forward to seeing you on the night!

Reclaim your Pelvic Floor In Style

    YMCA, 12 Hereford St, Christchurch

With over 30 per cent of women with children experiencing leakage and all menopausal women at risk of leakage it makes sense for every woman to exercise their pelvic floor muscles.

An empowering pelvic floor seminar to give women of all ages the tools to train and protect these vital muscles is being hosted by award winning personal trainer Vicki Zumbraegel of Gratitude Fitness on Monday 19th June at YMCA, Hereford St, Christchurch.

Vicki, a registered nurse, is passionate about sharing tips from her award-winning online programme for pelvic floor safe exercises and has designed the event to coincide with World Continence Awareness Week which runs from 19th – 25th June.

The event also features Maree Frost from Maree Frost Physiotherapy who specialises in pelvic health. Special guest Joanna Giles from Love Your Look will be sharing her award-winning personal styling tips by demonstrating her look good, feel good styling system which has boosted the confidence of thousands of women.

Vicki says the event is designed to get women talking about pelvic floor issues in a safe and relaxing environment while providing practical tips to allow women to get their freedom back.

“It’s common to hear women laugh and say, “I laughed so hard I wet myself!” and take it as an accepted part of being older or having children but it doesn’t have to be this way.

“By reclaiming their pelvic floor and core, women actually regain their freedom. Leakage is an issue that we often don’t talk about openly yet it has a huge impact on confidence and daily activities.

“Pelvic floor exercises can help improve bladder control, boost self-confidence, enhance sexual sensation and better your quality of life.”

Vicki says while the exercises focus on the pelvic floor muscles, additional benefits also include improved fitness, strength, flexibility, health and well-being.

“Being able to laugh with confidence, sneeze with ease and cough or exercise without fear of leakage really transforms the lives of so many women.

“I would like to encourage women of all ages to pay attention to their pelvic floor and core muscles. It’s never too early or too late to protect and improve your pelvic floor muscles.”

    About First Cut Ventures
First Cut Ventures is NZ’s first youth-led angel and seed fund focusing on backing founders under thirty.

They recognise young founders have massive potential and are under-served by the traditional NZ investment community.

They exist to leverage access to capital, networks and best-practice expertise with their ‘boots on the ground’ to uncover, support and invest in the best young entrepreneurs. Early this year they raised $500k to invest on behalf of their investors.

Internet of Things (or more commonly, IoT) is a tech sector that has been around since the 90's and describes the interconnected world of devices such as machines, sensors, cars, and power plants that enable smart and real-time decision making and data collecting.

In this showcase event, we’ll share the work we are doing in this evolving IoT space. Hear first-hand from our customers (DataCol Group) and Head of IoT, Scott Pollard on how we’re working together to deliver innovative IoT products into market.

We will also take this opportunity to share a bit about Vodafone xone – our accelerator and innovation lab, and what it means to disrupt a business from within.

    Meg & Macy's Story*

    http://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/news/89963527/cupcake-thieves-leave-13yearolds-with-nothing-to-cheer-about

Last month driving home listening to Lana and Jase on More FM I heard Meg and Macy’s Story...

    • Young Wellington entrepreneurs Meg & Macy (13 years old)
    • Fundraising for their cheerleading club's travel costs to get to Nationals
    • Meg & Macy did a Cupcake bake sale
    • Had sold $160
    • Women came up & asked them how much they would charge to make 60 cupcakes for her nieces birthday.  Kept asking them lots of questions & distracting them.
    • While she had them distracted stole their $160 and ran off laughing at them!
    I Got So Mad!
Because Meg’s story really resonated with me on multiple levels...
    • When I worked in a retail job I had the same experience as Meg & Macy. A group of people worked together to distract me and then stole stock.  It's the most horrible feeling, being tricked and having your trust violated and you blame yourself too.  As a Mum, I don't want these young women being scarred for life by this experience!

    • Want to Turn Around a Bad Experience Into a Great Result for Meg & Macy. As a Personal Style Consultant I'm like a Fairy Godmother for my clients and I want to be Meg and Macy's Fairy Godmother in this situation too.
    • Encourage Meg & Macy's Entrepreneurial Initiative.  I want to encourage the girls so they remember a positive result to their initiative & hard work & don't get put off being entrepreneurs in the future.

    •   I was a member of the NZ Secondary Students Choir.  We travelled to Hawaii and won the top award at the Pacific Basin Choral Festival.

I still remember how hard it was to fundraise, every $160 towards your total counts, it's a big deal for Meg & Macy to lose that money.

    • Those early Fundraising experiences led me to become an entrepreneur as a adult, starting my own business in my 20's which has run for the past 15 years.
    With Our Encouragement & Support
Meg & Macy Could Be Our Top Entrepreneurs
In 10 or 20 Years Time
Making NZ An Even Better Place To Live

    THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING

Should we care about Waimakariri’s water?

We all agree that water’s important but we need to think about how we use water and how we can work together to improve the quality of our waterways. The Current State report has revealed a number of key points about Waimakariri’s water.

Andrew Arps from the Waimakariri Land & Water Solutions Programme will take a closer look at:

    • Successes: What’s going well

    • Challenges: What we need to work on

    • What it means for local business:

How does the Land & Water Solutions Programme affect local businesses? How can local businesses get involved and support water management projects in Waimakariri?

Canterbury Chamber of Commerce - 57 Kilmore St, Christchurch, New Zealand

The Chamber has created this session for businesses to gain a better understanding of the vision, key projects, timeframes and provide you with an opportunity to have your say. This is a must for all businesses currently in, or relocating to, the central city.

Christchurch’s Accessible City Plan aims to provide a travel network for our central city that will meet the current and future needs of all. It’s about making the central city accessible, people-friendly and appealing to all modes of travel. The overall aim being to create a vibrant central city to visit, shop and do business.

    • Hear the vision and plan first-hand including proposed changes, 30km zones, parking, timeframes and more.
    • Understand the bigger picture: how does this plan interface with the wider city transport plan?
    • Provide your views.
